Artisan soap is soap that has been handcrafted from the finest ingredients. All our soaps are luxury artisan soaps, meaning some of the ingredients cost more than cheaper alternatives but always produce higher quality, superior products.
No. We only use the purest distilled water in all our soaps. The distillation process ensures that contaminants such as inorganic materials, minerals and metals that can still be found in tap water are safely removed.
Bottled water companies purify their water and then add ingredients back. The ingredients they add back include: calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate and magnesium sulphate. These chemical compounds can form soap scum and can cause oxidation.
The pure distilled water we use in our soaps directly leads to a superior soap appearance, performance and a voluminous and longer lasting lather.

Yes, all our luxury artisan soaps are made from 100% natural ingredients. Soap making requires sodium hydroxide (also known as lye or caustic soda). During the soapmaking process, lye is neutralised in a process called saponification which is where fact or oil is converted into soap when combined with lye and water. There is no sodium hydroxide or lye in the finished product, only soap.

Yes, we can assure you that all the ingredients we use are 100% natural and from sustainable sources. All ingredients used in cosmetic, toiletry and perfumery products must be listed on the ingredients list.
The ingredients list helps people who have been diagnosed with an allergy, so that they can avoid the ingredients to which they are allergic. To avoid people having to know ingredient names in many different languages, the industry agreed a common naming system called the International Nomenclature for Cosmetic Ingredients or INCI. The same ingredient names are used in every European country and most countries worldwide.
No and they never will be. We love all animals and we’re against all forms of animal cruelty and product testing on animals. Also, because we use 100% natural ingredients, our soaps are safe for our furry friends.
Yes, absolutely! One ingredient that you’ll find in many cold process soap recipes is palm oil. It’s linked to deforestation of habitats for orangutans and other animals, climate change and obesity (as a major ingredient in junk food). There is palm oil available from sustainable sources, but we don’t use it.
Instead, we use Baobab oil in all our soaps. Baobab oil is more expensive than palm oil, but its highly beneficial properties for the body and skin yield the highest quality soap.

Also, there are no synthetic detergents in any of our artisan soaps. So, when you’ve used any one of our soaps, you can be sure that the soapy water that goes down the drain will be safe for aquatic life.
